This is a truly thoughtful and picturesque tour through ancient times. We underestimate how dependent we are on technology, and overestimate how much smarter we are than those who created these marvels so long ago. I've toured Pompeii and Herculaneum in Italy, saw the ruts worn in stone streets by carriages and the wonderful "cave canem" sign. Imagine how smart the scientists were back then to develop the systems they did-aqueducts for water, paved roads. Wonderful pictures Fran.
